Metro Transit’s Bike2Benefits program, which kicked off earlier this year to encourage people to try bike commuting, promised prizes for anyone that registered and logged eight consecutive weeks of at least one bike or bike/transit commute. They recently announced what the actual prizes are.

I thought I read initially that the grand prize would be a fancy Trek bike. Such a bike would cost well over $500, but $500 can certainly get you on a more-than-decent commuting bike or significantly clean and gear up the bike you have.
