Election Cramming: Cheat Sheet for Young Liberals

The Twin Cities chapter of the League of Young Voters (dubbing themselves, this year, as the League of Pissed-Off Voters) has done all the research so you don’t have to. Although they posted a retraction on crazy Supreme Court candidate Deborah Hedlund because they got that one totally wrong.

They’ve rated candidates in most Minneapolis and Saint Paul races (sorry, suburbs) with a No Endorsement (plus in the aforementioned judicial contest, a Hell No), Well, Okay, Yes, With Reservations, Yeah, Hell Yeah, and Oh Hell Yeah. Justification for each is included.

I wish I had found this site a little sooner, but there’s lots of good info and ways to get involved. A presidential election always increases participation and turnout, but there are people to be elected every two years and our say in our representation is ongoing. The group develops strategies on specific issues in each area and works on non-election-related political issues, too. The Twin Cities group has been one of their most active groups since 2003.
