- David is leveraging matching gifts to raise funds for Second Harvest Heartland. He’ll give $1 for every comment on this post (including his own), yadda yadda yadda, $18 worth of food for every $1 he pitches in.
- Marcy Open School students talk about their school. The Bridge asks what they like and what they would change. Of the approximately 35 responses, some strong trends stood out: many Marcy kids said they like their teachers, the “open” school concept and the fact that Marcy is a “peace” school. As for change, nearly half said they need longer lunch and recess than the 15 minutes currently set for each.
- The Saint Paul Saints always have the best promotions. The first 2,500 fans that enter the gates on Saturday, May 23 are scheduled to receive a “Re”Count, but that number may change daily leading up to the event. For example, the Saints may only have 2,400 dolls to give away if an employee accidentally leaves a box of the dolls sitting in their vehicle overnight.
- Steve Berg at MinnPost talks about the lack of signage at MSP. How do you know which airline is at which terminal? MnDOT takes a Keep It Simple Stupid approach to highway signage and thinks we can’t be trusted to read and drive.
- Speaking of MSP, there’s now a Houlihan’s located outside the security gates (in the Lindbergh Terminal). Remember back in the pre-9/11 days when the fam could all go to the airport way early, you’d have a tension-filled meal together, then bid whichever relative adieu and get back in the car and go home? A buddy of mine offered to have dinner with me one night a few years ago when I asked him to drop me off at the airport. He doesn’t fly much. And that Houlihan’s is gonna be busy as hell.
- MPLS Mirror stumbled across an anti-Fed protest on Saturday. Perhaps connected to that Ron Paul airplane banner that was flying around?
