- Twitter was telling me that the Somali community in Cedar-Riverside had the best street party. MnIndy has video.
- MinnPost on what Minnesotans could end up in the Obama administration. Top candidates are Jim Oberstar as Secretary of Transportation and Colin Peterson as Secretary of Agriculture.
- The Strib has early exit poll results. Note: not enough non-white people to provide a representative sample.
- The Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment passed by quite a healthy margin. And, yeah, after all that flip-flopping, I voted YES (with reservations).
- Voter turnout is always awesome in Minnesota, and it was even better this year.
- As I sat in First Responder Training on Monday, I kept having this horrible fantasy that I’d sustain some sort of medical emergency and be stuck in the hospital on Tuesday and unable to vote. Looks like I needn’t have worried (about the voting part).
- This Coleman-Franken thing is gonna drag out. Minnesota Secretary of State Mark Ritchie said the recount won’t begin until mid-November at the earliest and will probably stretch into December. (via Aaron)

Did you happen to listen to the Truth to Tell podcast about the Environment and Arts Amendment? I just listened to it today, but it reinforced my YES vote.
A couple things I didn’t know:
- The lottery money was supposed to be 15%, but has been cut down to 7% over the years by the Legislation
- The Constitution has been amended 119 times, and quite a few for budget issues, so their already has been precedent.
It was a good episode, as were all of the shows about the election.
I was not caught up enough on Truth to Tell to catch that episode before the election (in fact, I’m in the middle of the community organizing ep right now). Looking forward to it, though.
I did not know that about the lottery money, but I had found out some more about the history of constitutional amendments. I still have reservations about the procedure, but I am more comfortable with it now than I was before.
