Holiday Lights at Lake Phalen

Lights at Lake PhalenDavid posted last week on the Holiday Light show at Lake Phalen. Now that there’s some snow on the ground, I’m thinking it’s a little more enjoyable.

It’s really the perfect canned Xmas experience.

  • You can stay in the warmth of your vehicle.
  • You can see lovely lights that someone put some effort into putting up instead of throwing the light blanket haphazardly over their bushes.
  • You have a bunch all in one place so you don’t have to wander aimlessly through a random rich neighborhood.
  • It’s less guilt-inducing to enjoy than houses in said rich neighborhoods that hired someone to decorate their house so that you can drive through and admire them.
  • You’re making a charitable donation.

As an employee of Second Harvest Heartland, I’m obviously a little biased. However, I’d easily pay the $8 or $10 for this even if that wasn’t the case. It’s a beautiful display – and much longer than I was expecting it to be. Everyone check it out!
