- Why you should not buy/drink bottled water and a complete breakdown of all the bottled water available at The Wedge. There’s a bit of disagreement in the comments as to what is or isn’t bad about bottled water. We all kind of know that it’s bad. Brilliant idea going after what’s available at the co-op. I know the author from choir; she’s quite the dedicated activist.
- Matt Foster poo-poos bad graphic design in theater advertising at Minnesota Playlist. Best part is he includes his own redesigns illustrating his points.
- MPR has a story on no-gift-giving (informed by the Public Insight Network). Sucks for the already-hurting retail sector. A lot of folks I know are doing group charity donations instead. I wonder if that’s even making a dent as non-profits are hurting, too.
- In the Daily Planet: Where to go for heating help. Be forewarned that if you were thinking that they just don’t shut off people’s heat in Minnesota in the winter, that’s not entirely true. Prudent, as today is the first real brrrrrfuckcold day of the winter.
- I never quite know how to take Minneapolis CouncilMember Ralph Remington. He recently posted an editorial in the Minnesota Spokesman-Recorder. “It feels peculiar to say that I’m under the jail, because we all know colloquially that to be placed in jail is horrible; but to in fact be under the jail is an even worse fate. But it just so happens that all elected officials as well as the City Council chambers are in fact under the Minneapolis City Hall jail.” Ummmm… what are you tryinna say, Ralph?
