Minneapolis to Host Bike!Bike! 2009, Aug 27-30

Bike!Bike! is is an international annual conference organized by and for Not-For-Profit bike projects. The host city rotates each year.

It’s coming up this weekend, running Thursday through Sunday, 8/27-8/30. The Grease Pit (the bike shop on the back side of the Bedlam Theatre in Cedar-Riverside) is the official host. Sibley Bike Depot will also host some Thursday night festivities. All other activities will be held at the Bedlam. The complete schedule of events can be found at the Bedlam’s web site.

They’ve got a really interesting mix of programming. Technical stuff for gearheads, bike culture stuff, non-profit-y community stuff, and of course riding. Sounds super cool.

Pre-registration is closed but if you are not in need of housing (because you’re reading this and you’re local), you should be able to register from 10am-6pm on Thursday at The Grease Pit. There’s a suggested donation of $28-$49, but they will turn no one away and will gladly accept any volunteer time you may be willing to give.
