I have no inclination to go to the Minnesota State Fair whatsoever. Probably another one of those things that’s a result of not having grown up here. So I will enjoy the State Fair from afar by reading Minnesota State Fair Clichés. My favorites include:
#13 – Edgy Arts And Crafts.
#16 – Hair Styles Last Seen As Trendy By Most Of America Over A Decade Ago.
#19 – White People.
#30 – People Milling Around Animal Butts.
#34 – Old-Timey Farm Equipment.
#39 – People In Hats They Know Look Stupid But That Put On Anyway Because, Hey, It Was Free.
#47 – Punny T-Shirts From Special Interest Groups.
#51 – Creatively Costumed Amateur Talent Ensembles.
The accompanying photos hilariously illustrate each point perfectly. There’s still a week to go, so there are many more still to come. Contribute your own!

Aw, thanks for the post on my lil’ ol’ side project of a blog. Also, people should know that when the fairs ends, the blog ends. I’ll leave the site up but really, there’s only so much you can do with this site so let’s just end it before it becomes a state fair cliche itself.
Also, anyone submitting posts should be sure to submit photos AND please, please tell me what the cliche is. Sometimes I don’t know what the hell is going on in the photos. Actually, often I don’t.
Just wanted to mention that I grew up here and I have absolutely no inclination to go to the State Fair, either. Now, I would be interested in attending the Michigan State Fair. Would you?

Hmm…that comment seems suspiciously like one that someone who is soon to cliché #52 would make. I’m just sayin’…
Enjoy the fair whenever you go!
